Elias Wynne of Eglwysbach
« on: Tuesday 08 August 06 08:59 BST (UK) »

On my travely around the Conwy Valley trying to trace my Wynne ancestry, proving that certain Wynnes belong to me, proving that others don't and trying to find the common connection between them all, I have come across several Wynne headstones in various cemeteries.

Not being able to make an immediate connection between them and mine, I had to research them, their ancestors and their descendants, as far as feasible.

Thinking it a shame to let such information simply go to waste, I've decided to put what I have on-line. Perhaps some will recognise one of the names and be able to make the missing connection.

Hi D ap D
I have a John Griffiths bpt 19/2/1826 md Ellanor Wynne of Llan born c.1821 md 26/1/1850 see 1881 census and Erw'r Odyn, Eglwysbach.  She died 9/4/1890.

Both are buried in St. Martin's.  Presumably Llan may have been Llansanfraidd or Egfch?

Ellanor Wynne's father was Thomas Wynne, a tailor by occupation who was not marked as deceased on her 1850 marriage certificate.

Maybe she is related as my Griffiths later live at Ty Gwyn Farm in 1891 census.
Had a look at your research but couldnt see an Ellanor Wynne in there, have you come across her?
