Marriage of Thomas Jones

I am trying to find out when my Grandfather Thomas Jones who was born in Llangenech in 1838 was married. On the 1881 census his wife's name was Jemimah (I don't know her maiden name) also born in Llangenech in 1837. Also the names of their parents.

Hello Rita

 I have done a little looking at the census, I think Jemimah's parents were Lucy
(1805) and Rees (abt 1811). I haven't checked yet but he may have died between 1841 and 51.
 I think Thomas's parents were Ann (abt 1802) and Thomas (abt 1807).
I will try to look for Thomas and Jemimah's marriage tomorrow.

Hi Rita,
Well done Bob, I found marriage of Jemimah Evans to Thomas Jones july qtr 1858 Llanelly vol 11a page 711.
Think you're right with her parents. On 1841 Jemimah is with parents Lucy and Rees (occ; engineman) in Llangenach, plus brothers Thomas age 7, Evan age 2 and David age 1month.

By 1851 Jemima is a servant, still in Llangenach at the home of Isaac and Elizabeth Morgan.

Also, There are a few Rees Evans deaths between 41 and 51.
Lucy is a widow by 51 and is living a few houses away from Jemima.
There are 2 more sons with her now;
Evan age 12 occ; collier
David age 10
Rees age 7
Llewelyn age 5.

Think Bob got the right Jones family for you also, this is the only Thomas born 1837 Llangenach;

On the 51 Thomas is still with them;

Thomas 49

Thomas 14

Margaret 6

Still in Llangenach.

1861 all that are left at home (next door to Nags Head) Llangenach are;
Ann 60
Thomas 60
Daniel 18
Margaret 15.

Thomas and Jemima are living at Bryn Cottage, Llangenach with children Ann 2 and Rees 1.
