Workhouse, Narberth
« on: Thursday 10 August 06 17:21 BST (UK) »
Hi there

I'm trying to find Narberth Workhouse in the 1871 Census. I've just waded thru pages & pages and can't seem to find it. Before I wade thru more pages, I was just wondering if anybody knows where it is!!

many thanks

Mrs Food

there's a workhouse in the civil parish of South Narberth, Pembs - could that be the one you want? RG10/5509 folio 91. If you're using Ancestry, you can use the keyword search and put in work house or inmate which might help.
Cornwall: Allen, Bevan, Bosisto, Carnpezzack, Donithorn, Huddy, James, Retallack, Russell, Vincent, Yeoman
Cards: Thomas (Llanbadarn Fawr)
Glam: Bowler, Cram, Galloway, James, Thomas, Watkins
Lincs: Coupland, Cram
Mon: Cram, Gwyn, John, Philpot, Smart, Watkins
Pembs: Edwards (St. Dogmael's)
Yorks: Airey, Bowler, Elliott, Hare, Hewitt, Kellett, Kemp, Stephenson, Tebb

Osprey, thanks very much for that info, I had no idea there was a North Narberth and a South Narberth in addition to plain 'Narberth'! You have saved me a lot of trouble.
Cheers
