Birth Cert Where Do I Go From Here?
« on: Monday 14 August 06 18:13 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys

I'm struggling with a birth certificate, which I ordered to find out the parents so I could locate a marriage.

Here are the details

7 May 1908 | 4 Frisby's Buildings Scotgate Stamford, Lincs | George Harry | Boy | George Ward | Fanny Ward Formerly SMITH | Woodsawyer | Fanny Ward Mother 4 Frisby's Buildings, Scotgate, Stamford | 19 Jun 1908 |

If you get all that?  I'm trying to locate the marriage.  I assume Fanny is short for Frances and the only marriage I can find is

WARD George Augustus  Louth 7a 1318 Jun 1902
SMITH Frances Anne

Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Try this one - a bit earlier than you may have expected!

Hmmm ... if they married in 1895, they should be together on the 1901 census.

There's a childless George and Fanny in Hinckley ... he was a Boot Sewer though.

That's the one I thought looked most likely - would fit with a marrriage in Leicestershire.  Need the cert, though, for their ages as the occupation is different.  ???

(Or wait for the 1911 census!  ;D)

If I can get this right at midnight after half a bottle of wine, here's the relevant bit of image!
