Hi Ticker, I have a Ralph Eaton who married a Ann Clowes in 1753, Ann was born about 1724. Ralph and Ann's children were all baptised in Horton. Know it is a bit far out but any relation?

Hi ticker,
I am new to RootsChat and see that Anna has info on Ralph Eaton and Ann Clowes who married in 1753. I am a direct descendant of that couple and have not been able to get past them. Can Anna contact me please?

Johnty

I have an Ann Clew/s bc 1800 Great Barr Warks/Staffs.

She married in 1828 in Aston Juxta to William Brittain. I know nothing more about her.  :-\

Just googled and discovered that Horton and Great Barr are a million miles apart .... :D

Hi all, first post! Ihave done alot of research on the Clewes, Clews, Clowes family including checking all records at the Ellesmere Port Boat canal. My Gran married William Clews/Clowes, Clewes, Clows the son of George Clowes from Lawton.  The spelling of the surname various enormously so randam spellings often help. I have on my computer, somewhere all Baptism, marriage, births and deaths, barge numbers and names etc. It may take me a while to refamiliarise myself with all the whos whos, but glad to help.

Hi All.

Finally back on this line!  ;D

To summarises we have:

Jesse Clewes (b.1807 Horton Staffs) & Elizabeth Scragg (b.1801 Horton Staffs)
Jesse's parents - James Clewes and Ann
6 children - Emma, Ann, Eliz., Jesse, Sarah, Ellen (who I'm descended from)

Ralph Clewes (b.1802) & Elizabeth Harrison

Hannah Clewes (b.1808 Burslem) & Job Lovatt
Hannah's parents - Thomas Clewes and Mary

Finally - different generation
Ann Clowes (b. 1725) and Ralph Eaton

Has anybody got any further?

Best wishes
