Penkridge/Bloxwich baptisms (Bannister)
« on: Thursday 17 August 06 20:36 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm looking for the baptism record of James Bannister c. 1791 in Penkridge.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Still looking   :(

Also for any children of James & Sarah Bannister (1820-1840).  There is a George on the Mormon index but others would be good.

Thanks.

Still hoping to find something on the Bannisters.  James (1791) should be Penkridge but the children could be Bloxwich, Bentley or Walsall.

Thanks

Hi Damian,
I have Bannister's from the Walsall area, though not quite as early as you mention. Would you possibly be able to tell me a little more about your Bannister family please?

Hi Damian

on IGI these could be two of James and Sarah's children:

George Bannister, christened 18 DEC 1824 at Penkridge, parents James & Sarah

and  Sarah Bannister, christened 04 NOV 1827 at Bloxwich, parents James & Sarah.

Graham

Hi Graham

I have found George before on the IGI but as there was no George with my family on the 1841 census and so I haven't been able to tie him in although I know there was a George Bannister who was a witness to my 3xgreat grandparents' wedding.

Sarah though, and I don't know why, I have never found.  Maybe when I last looked I had realised where Bloxwich was in relation to Bentley.  If this is my Sarah then she is my 3xgreat grandmother.

Maybe I need to find the actual Bloxwich parish records are the IGI for this parish seems incomplete.  I would be looking for Elizabeth (c.1821), James (c.1831) and John (c.1837).

Anyway I feel I have made some progress, thanks.

Damian

I have now been given information of a Penkridge baptism of a James Bannister (son of John) in Nov 1791 however unfortunately I have also been given information of a burial of a James (son of John) in Feb 1792.

Either this is a very strange coincidence or there is another baptism of a James Bannister out there.

Ideally I would like a lookup of baptisms 1780-1790 if that is possible as I think there is an index after this point that didn't have any other possibles although that could be an indexing error.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks
