Hi,

My gran was married 1911 and l had no idea of how they dressed in that time. Your pic was of great interest. Funny doing the family tree now and all have passed on l found that they married on the same date as myself. My 3 x grandmother married the same date as my second wedding. Also alot of the birthdays are the same as my family.

Jean

Hi Jean
How spooky the same wedding dates
I have a few birthdays that match but what struck me the most in my tree is my name (Caroline)..... it was my g grandmother, her mother, her mother in law and 3 sister in laws names going back to 1811................ my parents didn't know this, they found out after about my g grandmother but that was all

A few years ago our local church held an open day.
They asked brides who married in the church to loan their dresses for a display in the church.  Some were over 50 years old.  Fascinating.

Hi Cal,

Its really funny what we find when doing genealogy. My mom was Lillian May my gran Elsie May and my ex mother in law Elizabeth May and yes all born in May. Mom's maiden name was Graham and my first husbands given name was Graham so we all had a good laugh. l was born August thank goodness mom didn't call me Augustine/a.

I am off to have a more detailed look.
My Mum and Dad got marrried right after the war.Dad had been a bevan boy down the coalmines and did not get a demob suit,so mom gave her clothes coupons to him.She looked lovely in a suit and hat but I think always regretted that she never had the full wedding dress :'(

Gosh, I bet Beattie is blushing!  Beattie was 24 and Albert was 25 when they married.  Tis funny you should say that she looked so young.  She was 32 when she had my mum, then mum had me when she was 45, which in turn, when I came along, Beattie was 76, so she was always very old in my eyes.  Indeed as I look at pictures of her now, she was very wrinkly (said with much love and no disrespect intended)  It takes someone else's prospective to look at people in a different light.  Thankyou - my grandmother was young once!
