Ann Binns
« on: Saturday 19 August 06 12:13 BST (UK) »
Hello out there,

I am new, this is my first effort with a message.

My ancestor Ann BINNS, was born c 1826. In 1881 Huddersfield is given as place of birth. However, in the 1891 census, it is Bradford. Her f was Richard BINNS.

I do have other info, it's the birth I need to trace.

Can anyone helpplease.

Many many thanks

Dill

Hi Dill,
Welcome to Rootschat!  :D
What other info do you have?  Have you found Ann in any other census?  How do you know what her father's name was?
If you let us know what you've already got, we will know where to start looking  :)

I would guess Ann was married by 1881.  8)

Wow what a result allready, so many replies.

Hannah is always a good possibility for an Ann. However, I have her marriage cert, and she is Ann on everything  I have so far. Never the less the igi find could prove interesting.

So here goes with my info.

m 5th March 1848, Ann age given as full, have calculated she was 22, f was as I said Richard. They lived on MountPleasant, in Kidderminster, now under the bypass.

She was a Brierley therefore, on 1881 census. On this you will see three generations of my family.

My thanks to each of you, do let me have any other questions.

Dill

Ann BINNS married Joseph BRIERLEY
in 1848 in Kidderminster, Worcs.
March Quarter  18 398

I'm a bit confused here, why would two people born in Yorkshire, get married in Worcestershire, and be in Lancashire a couple of years later ??
