Inquest Report 1901/Prison record
« on: Saturday 19 August 06 21:57 BST (UK) »
Can I get hold of an Inquest Report for Craven District in 1901?  Is it possible to get hold of a prison record or transcript of the trial (I have the newspaper report already) for that period?

Thanks

Shonagh

If you have a date you can  with all details to

Public Records Office
The National Archives
Kew
Richmond
Surrey
TW9 4DU

I did this recently for a murder case in Wath upon Dearne in 1911.

They very kindly found the details in the public records and gave me the reference under which the documents were held online and I was able to complete an electronic form to order an estimate of the cost to obtain copies.digitalexpress_delivery@nationalarchives.gov.uk

hope this helps
