Good on you Diana!

That is such amazing news!  What are the odds - Monique finds it one day, floating out there on eBay, and by the next day it's been (almost) reunited with its family  :D :D :D

This is one of the great things about family history - the serendipity - and one of the reasons I love Rootschat so much.  It's a great community that will go to some pretty amazing lengths to see things happen  ;)

Will keep my fingers crossed that he gets it......and that the other bidder's internet connection goes down until the auction finishes  ;D ;D ;D

Monique - maybe we should start up a 'rescue fund' - and make the rescued items part of a challenge.......

I can't remember who's selling the items, but if they are an individual seller, an email to them might not go astray - it would be worthwhile at least letting them know that a family member is bidding on the items.

don't you just love happy endings ;D
I looked at it today and it was still under a fiver, so surprised it went so high-but  only the cost of a few certificates and no doubt priceless to the new owner

This gives me goosebumps. It's so fantastic and unbelievable and enviable. I am going to start perusing ebay.
