In 1891, William is listed as a pupil on the "Indefatigable", moored off Rock Ferry, Cheshire.

Have you found them in 1881?  I can't see them at all...  ???

Without buying a birth cert for one of the children this is only a guess, but there are very few McKimmies in Liverpool, and an Alexander McKimmie died there Sep Q 1881 aged 40 - he might be the father?

This marriage may also be worth keeping on file:

Marriages Dec 1868
DAVIES    Joseph
McKINNIE    Alexander
POPPLE    Sarah Jane
THORNTON   Ann Jane
Liverpool 8b 159

Thanks again.

I'vehad reat difficulty finding any of the branches as the name is so often incorrectly transcribed but I had Alexander as a possibility for the 'missing' father.

I know there is a connection with my branch but yet to discover exactly how - your help has been great, many thanks.

Hi,

I think I've found them 1881, but have answered on another thread about this family here,

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,178514.0.html

I hadn't seen this thread when I answered but at least we have found the same people  :)
