Photoshop help please
« on: Thursday 24 August 06 16:01 BST (UK) »
Hi there,
I am hoping someone may be able to help me.
About a week ago my computer was hit by a nasty virus.
I rang a local computer company and they came to my rescue. The computer had to be updated to XP.
They updated a lot of things, but not my scanner.
So this aftrenon I decided to add the scanner.
It is a Packard Bell Diamond 1200.
I followed the instruction book and everything went smoothly until it told me to insert the photoshop CD.
I inserted the disc and it asked me for my details and a serial number ?????????????
What's that ?
I checked the scanner manual and the sleeves of the CD's, but no serial number  ??? ??? ??? ???
Can someone please help ?
The photoshop is -
adobe photoshop 5.0
I am not  very good with all this "tech stuff" so any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Best Wishes,
alveleyhistorian

You seem to be referring to the Photoshop Serial Number, this should be on the envelope the Photoshop Disc came in.

Hi Alveley,
I am not sure why, if you are adding a scanner to your
computer system that you are being requested to use Photoshop.

Your scanner should have it's own C.D. with the driver information
on it. I can only assume that this must be some complication with bundled
software?
Can you tell us what instructions appear when you insert the install
  disc for the scanner?
