I actually qualified as a Swimming Teacher and Lifeguard - part time while I was doing my A levels.

Now I'm a chartered Civil Engineer, looking after environmental infrastructure in South and Eastern Europe. (i.e. water supply, waste water disposal and treatment, waste disposal and management), so lots to do there. That pays the bills.

And for the last 10 years I've been running my own translation office, doing mostly technical stuff that other translators don't touch. That pays for my holidays.

And I still teach kids to swim at the local swimming club.

I'm just worried that one day Big Brother (East Sussex County Council) is going to tell me off so I try to limit it to early morning and lunch time.  Trouble is I work in an office which is affiliated loosely to the council and we don't like the control they have over, so my bosses don't actually mind so long as it doesn't stop me from working!!!  But you try telling that to the IT department!!!  Too beaucratic by half :(
