Hello bekahsgran & Jayne,

Thankyou, but the family from Wapping (1851) are not the ones I am looking for. However, I am interested in the 1851 family in All Saints district and would like to know more about them, especially in 1851. Thankyou.

Hi
I have just revisted the 1851 census and there are only 2 families, the one from Longbenton,  which was identified by Ann,  is there not the possiblity the family moved from the All Saints district, if the 2 families we found are a match then there is a high probabilty that is the case

Hi Jayne,

The son John from the Wapping family  in 1851 census went to Australia in 1855/6.  The John I am seeking married in 1858 and stayed in Northumberland.

Yes. The father, David, is also shown as a Labourer.  It is this family that I would like to know more about if possible please. Thankyou.

Printer,

Be aware that although today there is a distance between modern-day Longbenton ( in the north of the city of Newcastle) and All Saints area inthe south-east of Newcastle,
in the mid 1800s the "parish" of Longbenton and the parish of "All Saints"  were neighbours... so Wapping on the banks of River Tyne although was within parish of Longbenton, it was very close to All Saints parish.
