Sounds suspiciously like Caledon (8 miles SE of Aughnacloy, 8 miles W of Armagh). Would that fit the bill ?

Dave

Caledon is in the civil parish of Aughaloo / Aughloe / Aghaloo. Lewis Topographical Dictionary tells us that Aughaloo is the head of an RC union, and that there is an RC church in Caledon.

You can find on the web info about where certain registers are:

http://www.from-ireland.net/parishrecords/tyr/tyrindexrc.htm#1

This page suggests that microfilm copies of certain RC records of Aghaloo are in the National Library of Ireland, Dublin (P 5585) and in the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (MIC 1D/36).
