Daniel Jenkins 1814

Hi All

My Mystery man is Daniel Jenkins..

According to all census information entered 1841 through 1861 my Daniel Jenkins was stated to be born in Merthyr Tydfil in (year assumed from calculating back from census yrs & age given at that time) 1814.

But where in Mertyer TYdfil? 

Does anyone know which Churches existed during that period in Merthyr?  And does anyone have Baptism records for those Churches?

His male children were: Daniel b. 1838, Rees b. 1842, Thomas b. 1852.
I list these because of the use of patronimycs during that period.  I would guess that Daniel senior's fathers name could be Daniel or Rees... Thomas was the name of his Father in law.

I have extensive detail on the family from 1838 onwards from which time Daniel lived in Ystradgynlais - Margam - Cwmafon - Ystalyfera (Where he died of the Cholera in the 1866 outbreak).

Hi,
I have checked through my pre 1837 baptism records and he does not appear. These are the churches i have in my records for Merthyr Tydfil:
St Tydfil
Pennsylvania Methodist
St Mary R.C
English Wesleyan
Ebenezer
Welsh Wesleyan

There were probably other churches too but i dont have the rcords for any others. You may be able to locate some though by paying a visit to Merthyr Library.
