Marriages

Jul/Aug/Sep 1866
~~~~~~~~
Fagg  Mary A    Farnham  2a 131
JACKSON  Joseph     Farnham  2a 131
And this is the marriage Cert..............so looking possible ?!?!
Sorry Simon but I'm still not convinced that Joseph is the same chap as your James- the only thing to do is to get the cert- or one of the boys birth certs to confirm mum's maiden name.
You are quite correct !
It's got to be highly likely that this is correct ?
Same Surname of the bride, dates add, the two Fagg Sons listed in 1881 Census.
As you say, I need the Marriage Cert and one of the Fagg Sons Birth Certs.
Which of the two Sons Birth Certs would be of more use ?? Would the one nearest the 'marriage' be more likely to have a Jackson father ??
Nope I'd go for William E personally, as it's the one that I would hope holds the most/least information, then I'd know for sure.
What do you think Carol?
Going back to Mary A Fagg - birth 1838..............Blean.
What Parish would Blean be in ?
I couldn't see her in the 1841 Census (no surprise due to the lack of exact details) + 1851, nothing................but Parish might help.
Births :
Jan/Feb/Mar 1838
~~~~~~~~

Fagg  Mary Ann     Blean  5 56

(Blean is in Kent.....about 15 miles from Chatham....where a Mary A Jackson was born come the 1881 Census - same woman ? Canterbury and Maidstone are nearer that Chatham to Blean)

Here wendi.................just trying to track her from early life - maybe those first two sons were 'illegit' ?

Yes I agree with Wendi- go for Wiliam's birth cert- then if his dad is called Mr Fagg,we know Joseph's is too. If he isn't and it tells you that mum's maiden name was Fagg then you know they were both illegitimate.

Which is what I suggested days ago  8)

I have a feeling that the boys born to Mary could possibly have been illegitimate and you might find that she was born a Fagg too.
