INTERESTING FAMILY!  I am sure there is still lots out there to glean...as this
was such a notable family industry....Better get my rear in gear and finish the
laundry...which is almost as much fun as we all know... :-X :P ;D

Hello JJ & Karen,

This is so exciting!!  JJ, the site you mention is where I found the information that has set me off on this trail - I'm sure it's my Henry so I'm off at full tilt now!!  ;D

Karen, it would be great to have the full entry for the 1871 if possible - please don't go to too much trouble, any time will be fine.

It's great to find the marriage of Charles as well - I wasn't sure if the other family members went to Canada or not but it looks as if at least Henry & Charles did.  I have managed to navigate to Henry junior in 1901 and link to 1911 - so the information on the family is building.

Any other information on ships lists, entry records etc would be great - all hints and tips gratefully received!!

Jean

BECKETT - Hamilton / Wentworth County, Ontario

They all came to Canada first...likely even married in Ontario as the children are born in Canada...
Anyway, as far as research in Canada..if you go to the top of this page and look to the left under immigrants to Canada...just click there and go to Canada Resources... There is an Ontario resources site in here, as well as many others...

You can also go to the Immigration to the U.S. site and see what information they can glean for you!

I just wanted to let you know that thanks to your help I'm in touch with the researcher from Canada!!  It looks as though I will be able to help with the earlier Beckett's from Cheshire and he has already sent me information on the Canada line.

Thanks again,

Jean
