Found it last, thanks to a bit help from you lot, :)

Dont you think this is lovely. written by a young second world fighter pilot, John Megee, shortley before he was killed in a mid air collision,

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds
of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-
silvered wings,
Sunward I,ve climbed, and joined
the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split, clouds, and done a
hundred things
You have not dreamed of, wheeled
and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence.
Hover"ring there,
I"ve chased the shouting wind
along, and flung
My eager craft through footless
hall of air...
Up, up in the long, delirious,
burning blue
I"ve topped the wind-swept
heights with ease and grace
Where never lark, or ever
eagle flew,
And, while with silent lifting
mind I"ve trod
The untrespassed sanctity
of space.
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God,

Remember this poem recieted by Raymond Baxter, on a vidieo I seen years ago,

I am a going on 50, and a hairy ar""d  plumber, thought that nothing could get me no more, but every time I read this I cast a tear, them poor lads,
