George C W Copper served on HMS Royal Adelaide he is listed as Carproad!

Anyone know what this is?

Yup your right it has been wrongly transcribed.

Ships Corporal looks more like it.

Ship and Corporal - do they actually go together? - Was he army being carried somewhere.  It's not a navy rank is it  ???

As it was a Royal Navy vessel, he could have been a Corporal in the Royal Marines.

In 1871 His wife Letitia is at home on her own have yet to find him! I assume he is at sea.

1881 he is at home with his wife and a mystery daughter(no idea where this girl came from) He states occupation Naval Pensioner!

Mystery daughter named Henrietta Jamerson age 26. In 1891 Letitia is back with her parents and Henrietta appears to be in service (servant).

\he died Sep Qtr 1881. End of story... ???
