York minster marriages
« on: Friday 01 September 06 21:41 BST (UK) »
In another line I came across a marriage between two of my ancestors at Manchester Cathedral in the 1820s. Apparently the reason many folk married there was because the volume of marriages was such that there were no checks on whether or not the couple concerned were of age. Indeed, both my rellies were under age at Manchester.

I wondered if anything similar took place at York Minster? I'm clutching at straws really, trying to track down a really elusive marriage and this might be one more avenue to explore. Any pointers gratefully received.
