very confused!

on an 18881 census return i have a boy aged 4 (thomas william smith)
he is at his G parents (thomas and jane smith) on his wedding cert his father is named as THOMAS GEORGE SMITH on a later return 1891 he is still with G parents but they have him down as son,they do have a son that would be the right age to be his dad but he is THOMAS JOHN SMITH??!
any ideas as to who he belongs to?? ;D

too make matters worse there are two births in bridgwater for THOMAS WILLIAM SMITH 1875 and 1876!! so i wont know which one is who as not sure of dads name and dont know mums! ???
