Hello  there

Tthe NSW State Record Office  has a listing  under desceased estates  for J Sucker 1906  this  is  Henry  and Eliza's Son the One who  was  the publican.

This  document  may  throw further  light  on the  family
http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/indexes/quicksearch.aspx?k=sucker&scope=2
Also  a very  interesting  entry for James Sucker a convict
regards Jenn

Fantastic searching jenn and genni.
I think I will pm Kev with a couple of modern-day snippets.
the phone number  of the Commercial Hotel.

And the name address and phone number of a Sucker who lives in a street very nearby to Swan Street., Morpeth ( sorry about my awful spelling of it before, Just got it now)

I wonder if he is by any wonderful chance. a publican.?

Hi Jenn,
The John you refer to married Margaret Partridge in 1903.
As you say he died 1906.  Bit sad.
It makes it look like the Mrs Sucker [repairs] that Genni found could be his mother,
For general interest, the parents of John who was the father of Henry William were Robert and mother was Frances.
John married his Eliza in 1848 and he died 1890.  Henry's brother Robert J. erected a monument to him in the cemetery.
Don't know where that puts the convict James, but would LOVE to fit him somewhere.

Hi All

I believe the John SUCKER who married Eliza STACE (Henry W's parents) arrived in Australia as a convict in 1837 on the "Mangles".

OOOooo!
Maybe brothers or some such.
The name James does come up as a second name in the family.
JohnSenior's death cert. might make intersting reading.
