I have finally managed to download it (I think!!)  Now I need to work out what all the abrieviations mean!

Charles Rawlings Corps 22 Lond R Pte 2510
                                             "          "   680951

Medal Victory Roll TP/22/101B Page 64
         British              "                   "
           15 Star     TP33A      Page 22
SWB Dist  TP/5024
Theatre of War (1) France
Date of entry therein 15/3/1915

Does anyone know what this means?  Is there any way that I can confirm that this is the right Charles Rawlings?

Many thanks to you all and I hope I haven't driven you mad!!

Hi CJ
Going by the date of entry to France 15/3/1915, this may but him in the 1/22 London(The Queen.s) Regiment. There date of landing in France is 16/3/1915.

Here are the file numbers for the National Archives, for the medal rolls & Silver War Badge(SWB).

TP/22/101B=WO329/1944 page 64, this is for the British War Medal(BWM) & Victory Medal(VM).

TP33A=WO329/2890 page 22,1915 Star Medal.

TP5024=WO329/3175, 5024 is the page number, this is for the SWB.

The only way to confirm if this is your man is the look at the sevice records for him at the National Archives, or check your local papers for him, because he was given the SWB, you only get this if you were discharge from the Army for being wounded or sick. He may have but in for a pension because of the SWB.

Hi Monsstar

Would I have to go to the National Archives to see his service records or can you view them online?

Sorry to keep asking questions but military research is completely new to me.

Well if I was a betting gal I would have put my money on Charles Rawlings being in the Sherwood foresters/Notts & Derby regiment. :o

I have being desperately trying to find the London regiment (rangers) 12th battalion cap badge, could someone point me in the right direction please  :)

Thank you.
