Hi ScRoppers

I guess we need to get gcar to confirm the exact spelling as gcar stated it to be ccAPPS (plural).  CCAPP is part of Norton Firewall apparently.  I only have Norton System Works which is probably why I do not have that particular file.

Over to you gcar.

Hi I have Norton NIS 2006, and I have auto-update enabled.
I can't remember exactly whether it was CcApp or plural ccApps... when it happens again I'll make a note of it..

Hi newbie

Why wait?

Perform a search now:

Start->For Files or Folders and enter ccapp* as the search criteria.  The asterix is a wildcard that will return all files beginning with ccapp.

If you find any files with a plural 's' then make a note of the path.

Probably worth a trawl of Symantecs knowledge base .....

Newbie suspect you have an old module in Local Settings Folder - superseded by your 2006 version in Common Files folder ...

I rebuilt this PC back in March and then installed Norton - so only have the one copy of the module ...

Hi Newbie

It looks like you have solved one problem.   If it was ccapps.exe then you might have been in even more trouble.

You may want to search the Symantec forums to see if other users are experiencing your kind of shutdown problem and what the solution is.
