Who was Beaufoy's beau?
« on: Monday 11 September 06 13:32 BST (UK) »
Thanks to the help I received from the kind people on this Oxfordshire board I have pretty much discovered who Beaufoy was (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,173005.0.html) but now I am looking at her husband's family again.
I don't know too much, I only have him on the 1861 census as Thomas Thorpe born c 1827 a bargeman from Henley on Thames moored at Wraysbury.
MJP and Colinsorigins found some further information which suggests that the surname may actually have been Thorp not Thorpe but I am still unable to find him on any other census.
The baptism entry found & mentioned on the original post gives his birth as April 1819 (bit of a difference from 1827 on the census!) and parents Thomas & Elizabeth.
Can any of you eagle eyed lot spy him anywhere or find anything else for me?
Thanks
JK
