She's Come Up Trumps Again!!

Oooooh, I love it when my Mother goes digging through her drawers .  .  .  .  .  .  .  A big old chest of drawers that is!!    This time she's found a small silver money box owned by my Granny.   Can't wait till she decides to go rummaging again

Your Mum does have some lovely things stashed away. How old is this - have you looked at the stamp?

Thanks Gadget - it's so old and tarnished I can't find a stamp anywhere, that's not to say there isn't one, just that I can't find it.  I was thinking of taking it to a jewellers and asking about restoration.

I've no idea regarding it's actual age, but I remember Granny having it many many many many many . . . . . (get the picture!!!! ) . . . ..  moons ago

I shouldn't think my grandchildren would be half as thrilled when they dig out my paper mache money box in the shape of a cow with a bell round it's neck and a ribbon tied to it's tail

I've just bought Mum some drawer liners hoping she'll go through the drawers again and find another treasure

I notice that it has 1/- 6d and 3d on it but I can't find any similar images on googlle image search.

Did you notice also the 3d is a round one??   It must have been for the silver 3d pieces.   Here's a picture of the back, as I said, it's awfully tarnished.
