Robert KNILL - Barnstaple

Hello. Can anybody help me trace the birth and death as well as the parents of Robert Knill who was born in circa 1820. Robert married Eliza Slocombe in 1840 in Barnstaple and was living in Barnstaple for much of his life. My sister and I have found another Robert Knill who was born in 1790 and is a possible father of the younger Robert but we cannot find any confirmation as yet. If anybody can help, it would be most appreciated. Thankyou.

The only way you'll find out who Robert's father was is to send for this marriage certificate (it will also show Eliza's as well) and you can then work backwards from there through Parish Records.

There is also Edward Knill bap 29 October 1830 son of Robert and Ann Knill, brickmaker of Aze Lane, but I'm not sure if this is the same family

Eliza Slocombe bap 2 July 1817 Barnstaple born January 1816 father Richard mother Maria, of Vicarage Lane fathers occupation watchmaker

also Mary Ann Slocombe bap 2 July 1817 Barnstaple born Mary 1813, other details as before

I can't find a marriage for Richard and Maria in Barnstaple
