DOUGALL in Merthyr
« on: Thursday 14 September 06 14:35 BST (UK) »
I am close to closing one chapter on a branch on my dads side. There is however one twig which has been puzzling me for a while. I thought I'd post the details here, see if the names, dates, places ring a bell with any other lister:

Rose Julia A. Jones, daughter of John Jones and Agnes Mary Rose Turner was born 1877 in Aberystwyth. She learnt her trade as a Milliner. She married William Stuart Dougall, )b: 1873 in Greentown Surrey) son of the Manager of the Aberystwyth Gasworks, in Cardiff in the December quarter 1898. They were living with Roses mother, Agnes, in Brooklyn House, South St. in Aberystwyth in 1901. Their children were born in Aberystwyth as follows:
- William Thomas T. Dougall, born 1899
- Rose Emily A. Dougall born 1901
- Violet Clara I. Dougall, born 1903
- Georgina Lucy A. Dougall, born 1904
- John Frederick G. Dougall, born. 1907
- Rosie Dougall, (1910-1911)

The children were born in Aberystwyth, except Rosie, who was apparently born in Merthyr.
Rose Julia died in Merthyr in the final quarter of 1913 but is buried in the Borough Cemetery attached to St. Michaels, Aberystwyth on 5th Dec 1913.

As yet unconfirmed information indicates that the Dougalls stayed in the Merthyr area.

Does anyone recognise any of the childrens names? Could one of them possibly be a listers grandfather / grandmother?

Any suggestions?
