Doncaster birth look up please

I wonder if someone could look up a birth for me please. I have been told that the Parish records for Thorne are held in Doncaster.
Richard Charles Wilkinson was born 1823 in Thorne. Christened 24 Jan 1823. The IGI shows his parents as William and Sarah. I am hoping there will be some more information as to where they were living or a maiden name for Sarah. Any information may help me to find his parents.

I would be very gratefull.

I have the following info for you.
24/1/1823. Richard Charles Wilkinson (B) Thorne Quay Father William Mother Sarah.(no sirname)
Fathers occupation Carpenter.
I also looked back to see if I could find a marriage for william with no luck.
The address suggests that they may have been barge people "Thorne Quay" on the canal which passes through Thorne?
I found other Wilkinson's births & marriages in the Thorne area if you would like Them let me know.

Hi Kenn,

Thank you so much for looking for me. They were barge people.Both William and Richard were shipwrights when Richard got married in 1846 in Hull.
My problem is, that I don't know if they were from Thorne or if they from Hull and just working in thorne at the time.
There are a few marriages for William and Sarah in Hull around the time of Richards birth but without Sarah's maiden name I don't know if any of them are the right couple.
If you have any more information that could help me, I would be very grateful.

Hi Otter.
As they were barge people and birth as Thorne Quay I would say that he was born on a barge & christened in Thorne. No other children to William & Sarah are on the records and, no record of a marriage.

Hi.I he found a marriage 1846 Hull I believe could be yours.
Richard Wilkinson to Jane Gibson
Q1 Hull 22 299.
Have you considered
 that he may have married more than once? as some of my family did.
This is from Free BMD. I will see if I can fibd it on anywhere else.
I could not find any reference in IGI to relations in Thorne.

Hi Ken,

Sorry for the delay. I have been at my sons for the past week.

Does the 1841 census say where people were born? I did have a look a while ago but can't remember. I found a Richard living in Jenning Street with a family called Smith, which is a coincidence that you have found this family of William and Sarah with William, George and a Mary Smith.
Its also good to have something on Jane, I couldn't find anything for her.
I now have the marriage certificate for Richard and Jane Gibson for Feb 1 1846 in Salthouse Lane Chapel, Hull. He was living in Jennings Street at the time. Things are starting to add up, I think.

There are no occupations on the 1841c.
There seems to be a few Wilkinson's in Kippax.This is one.
