sorry - can anyone read this one too please
« on: Monday 18 September 06 16:05 BST (UK) »
I am so sorry to ask for someone to again try and decipher writings... am I the only one that gets really bad certificate copies?  :'( I have tried and tried with this one too... what I do know is the marriage is between a Patrick Gethins and a Mary McGlone ( think) - i have noticed the spelling of the Gethins could be Gettins/Gittens or the Gethins. I cannot make out the 2 mum's names - anyone any idea there?

It's Mary McGlone & Patrick Gettins - ? 5 Jun 1863 in Dundee?  Mary's parents are James & Ann McGlone (both dead) but this is too small to read the maiden surname.  Patrick's parents are Michael & Mary Gettins - Mary is already dead.

Any help?

Nell

Are those capital Cs in the maiden names, rather than Gs?  just looking at Mr Gettins' name and the G is quite distinctive...

Have you tried putting in an Illegible Image contact form to Scotlandspeople? I have had quite a few as poor to read as yours and found that when SP photocopy original and post it out it is usually very much improved and far easier to read.
