Bugden/Brown Marriage
« on: Tuesday 19 September 06 03:03 BST (UK) »
Hello
My ancestor John Bugden was born in Farley Witshire, 10 November 1798. hE WAS Baptised the next day in All Saints Church Farley. His parents were Joseph Bugden and Sarah Brown.

Is anybody able to tell me when they were married and if they too were Farley people? Do the records indicate witnessess and parents?

Cheers
Greg Bugden

Hi Greg,
How go the Bugdens?
I'm not able to look at the records for a while but it's unlikely that the parents would be shown on a marriage record in the 1790s, however witnesses were shown as they were, I imagine, required by law.
Cheers Dave

Hey genechaser
Thank you for your efforts. I guess it looks like this ancestor of mine is a Hampshire boy! Do you think a birth record is  availbale to confirm this?

Cheers Greg

Hi Greg
Joseph may not have been born Hampshire - normally marriages took place in the bride's parish.   Time will tell.
