anyone with ties to my brooks family my great gran lived in winter street i lived there has a child  from 1960 untill i was 8 then moved to cheshire  my grandad fred brooks known has real  name charles  moved from horwichin the 1930 to sandbach oh and my family lived blazrey famliy names my grandad siblings where alec bertha lenn my greatgrans was sally brooks any help would be graetfull new rooter  cheers glenys owen

did your brooks live in horwich in 1901, there is a brooks family living at number 36 winter street in that year.

suggest trying to find any children of grandads siblings by looking in the birth/marriage/death indexes on ancestry.co.uk  (BDM's), which are free.
to find out who alec, bertha and len married.
then look for children in births with those parents (birth indexes will give mums maiden name.) a lot of trawling....
Then you know who you're looking for.can advertise in bolton evening news, manchester evening news.both of which cover horwich area
