How Old is this Lady
« on: Thursday 21 September 06 19:37 BST (UK) »
Hi

Would anyone like to hazzard a guess at the age of this lady. I really haven't a clue. I've taken it from a family wedding in 1923.

I think she could be younger: 45-50 max.  People tended to look older in those days.

Of course, a gentleman would never suggest how old a lady might be...

But, as so many friends and family would tell you, I am no gentleman.

I guess early 60's or even (a well-preserved) 70's.

It's certainly a puzzle working out who the people are in old pictures. About sixty gives me a couple of options. This is from my grandparent's wedding, and I'm pretty sure she's on a picture of my grandad's cousin's wedding so could be one of his Aunts who would be either 63 or 56.

Heres the other picture that maybe the same person

I don't think they are the same person.

In the original photo, I would say the lady is at least 50.  When was the hat she is wearing fashionable?  Older ladies tend to cling to the fashions from their youth and this may be one from a few years previously when she was "in her prime."  I don't think she has reached 70.
