Hi Lynne and Janet
I found only one Richard Hunter baptized in Ramsbury around the date you gave......

30 Mar 1788 Richard son of William and Eleanor Hunter probably the William baptized 6 Nov 1743.
Other children of William and Eleanor all bap Ramsbury

11 Feb 1770 Sarah,   23 Jun 1771 William,   23 Jan 1774 Charles,   21 Apr 1776 george,   28 Jun 1778 Mary, 18 Jun 1780 Thomas,   15 Sep 1782 Elizabeth,   6 Mar 1785 Sarah.

Marriage Ramsbury, 27 Aug 1769 Wm Hunter, lab, and Eleanor Day, sp, witnesses Wm Bayman and Tho Smith.

Baps Ramsbury
6 Nov 1743 William Hunter son of Chas and Sarah,
18 Jan 1746 Eleanor dau of Jn (probably John) and Elizabeth Day

If that was the correct Richard then there is a link between your families.
Cheers Dave
