This IS them because that old woman talks about Glasgow, just the name Glasgow and how they got all the way to Liverpool!

Alli, r we able to look for a marriage from the Glasgow area?
Because we know John Dobbie married Jan? and they were both from Glasgow. Jane was b. 1839 and john 1836 so the marriage must have been about 1850s...
what do u think Alli?

unfortunately i dont have access to scottish marriages but iam sure if you post a request on the scottish board someone might be able to help.
so to put all the info together you are looking for a marriage of john dobbie and jane ? sometime before 1857 as that is when john jnr was born .judging by john snrs age we could be looking at between 1853 and 1857.
hope this helps some?
regards
alli

Alli,
On the 1871 cen for john / Jane Dobbie it states their daug as Ellen aged 22yrs! Would that be correct when John and Jane are both in their 30s.. or is it me reading this the wrong way!

Sorry to be a pest..

...could this be the family in 1881, the daughter is transcribed as Nulte  ::), I'm not sure what it really says,
