Hullo,I would be grateful for any Williamson burial information.in Biggar

My only point of reference is James WILLIAMSON  born BIGGAR 1784. He will not be there as he died in Wales bUT SIBLINGS and Parents may be there .

Family names are James John Humfray Elizabeth Wiliiam Peter Barbara, in later generations.

I have no idea when the family came to Biggar but they are said to have come from Banfshire and Caithness.

1784 GT. -Grandfather's birth so parents 25 +/- earlier so 1759 ish and siblings diistributed around 1784.

Very vague but any start would be really welcome.
Thank you for offering to do a look -up

Greetings for the New Year.

Regards
Sue in LLantrisant

Looking for any available info on John Forrest, b 1781, married ~1812, died unknown. Farmer with connections with Whitehill, Hillhead, Newbarns. Ny other reference to these farms would be of interest. Accepted that there are many Forrests in area around this time. Any appropriate MIs would be appreciated. Iain D Forrest

Hi Stan,
Looking for Hamilton, Gall & Frier in the Wiston area. Gilbert Hamilton & Margaret Gall in particular - they were my 4th great grandparents and were married at Wiston & Roberton. That's where they raised their family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Could you see if any of these are buried in Dunsyre as the parents

William Jackson & Margaret McKenzie were married there I believe in

 1802.

Marion Jackson born c1802, Margaret Jackson born c1806, Robert

Jackson born c1809, Helen born c1811.  Their sister Agnes married

Thomas Gemmell in Cumbusland & both died in England.

Do you have any Cambusland M.I's pre 1820?

Thanks for the offer.

Hi Stan,
Am looking for information on the Burial place of William Cleghorn and his wife Helen Blair. They were married in Irvine, Ayrshire in 1789; their son William Cleghorn was born in Biggar, 1798, as were his sister Janet, 1801, (and probably a brother George). They apparently continued to live in Biggar and I am hoping that they (the parents) were buried there before 1855. William jnr. married and moved to Peeblesshire and then to Edinburgh, but we have been unable to trace William snr. Your offer of help with Biggar is gratefully received.
Mem B.

Hi, I am looking for help with,

WILLIAMSONs in Oldkilpatrick 1600-1841+
most records use variations of -
Main,in Mains, of Mains, in Mains of Colquhoun,Oldkilpatrick, Dunbartonshire Glasgow

Humphray WILLIAMSON b 18 August 1741  and wife Grizal Connal were parents of
James WILLIAMSON
b1784.
one generation back
Walter WILLIAMSON  married 1732 in Oldkilpatrick Barbara COLQUHOUN

Earliest Patrick WILLIAMSON b1671 in Mains of Colquhoun
married Janet COLQUHOUN second daughter
 of Alexander and Christian(female)of Camstraddan 03 January1694

If any records exist where by I could trace any Children  of  this family earlier than and  in 1841 census it would be great.

But
***
Children of Humphrey WILLIAMSON and Grizel may still be alive in 1841

1841 census seems possible as
Grizel b Dumbarton 1777
Mary b Glasgow 02 july 1779
Jean b Glasgow30 June 1790 were
siblings of James WILLIAMSON b 1784 Glasgow

The family seems to have been in Old kilpatrick since 1694but I have failed to find any burials or marriages there.

Anything would be really helpful.
Cheers
Sue in LLantrisant
