Colette- site looked good until I read through a bit. Just 2 examples...
"In 1864, registration of deaths, births and marriages became compulsory in Ireland for the first time."
No mention here that registration for Protestant marriages came into effect in 1845. Actually, although registration came into effect in 1864 it wasn't until 1870 that it was compulsary.
"loss of the 19th century census returns in the blowing up of the Four Courts building in Dublin during the Civil War of 1922"
Some of the census records were pulped by the government after figures were extracted.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
