Looking for Photo's Of School Children Abt 1920's Neath - Help Please!

Hi There

I am looking for class photographs of children taken around 1917-1922 in the Neath area of Glamorgan - hopeful to find Granddad on one of them!

do you know what school grandad went to? and also roughly how old would he have been at this time?

There are lots of books made up of just photos of old faces and places in neath but I'd need some more details to start looking through the copies i've got!

Thanks for the offer - his name was Edwin Birchall born 1907 moved to Neath abt 1910 - also had two brothers Frank 1908 and Jack 1912 and also a sister b 1917 Mary.  Let me know if you come up with anything

started looking for you! Any idea which school he attended or if not, do you have any street names where he lived so that maybe i can have an idea from that!

Could there be a Harry Birchall as well.

Old Neath in pictures vol 2 has the following picture listed on the internet

Hi Jan,

I've emailed some pictures to you.  Seeing as grandad lived in Wallace Road, he probably went either to the Gnoll School, the Melin School or possibly Alderman Davies, the Church school.

The books i've taken the pictures from are Old Neath and District in Pictures, volumes 1, 2 & 3 and also checked the Courier's Memory Lane Neath & Port Talbot (published 2000).

Perhaps somebody else may have other books they can check for you....
