1841, 1851 look up please.
« on: Friday 29 September 06 11:14 BST (UK) »
I have been looking for Allan Hodgson born c1819 on the 1841 census but can't find him. He was born in Hull and I think his father was Thomas and mother Sarah. I can't find Allan on the 1851 census either but in 1861 he was living in Oldham. Thanks in anticipation RANDH.

Hi Randh

No luck so far in 1841.  Just wondering if you have seen ABRAHAM HODSON and family in 1851.  They are in Little Bolton ref 2209/77.  The family looks remarkably similar to that of Allan in 1861 - wife Ruth and children Thomas, Arthur, Mercy and Emma though the birthdates for the children all seem to be a few years out.  Just thought you might like to take a look.  I can give you full details if you don't have access to Ancestry

Cheers

Gina

Hi again

This looks like them in 1841

Dacre Street, Middlesbrough 1258/3/12

Allan HODGEN, 20, Millwright, Y
Ruth HODGEN, 20, Y

There is a possible marriage on freeBMD Mar Q 1839 between Allan HODGSON and Ruth GREENWOOD in Bradford

Cheers

Gina
