There is a marriage match for David Jenkin to Catherine Thomas in Aberdare on 11 Sept 1824.

There is a marriage for David Jenkins to Catherine Joseph in Merthyr Tydfil 27 Dec 1832.

None in the Neath area to match names or likely date of first child born.

I think the first marriage is likely and the first two boys were born Aberdare.

This site has someone who will look up the parish of Aberdare for you I think there is someone who has Margam as well. Scroll to Glamorgan and email the peeps that will hopefully look up for you.

This is the only one I could find on IGI familysearch, but only looked briefly

Did it just give the name jenkin for the child born before John

Just 'Jenkin Jenkin', the 's' was missed off but that was not uncommon at this time, most were. 

When I search I always use * so this brings up surnames with or without 's' Morgan*(s) William(s) etc

I would put the request as Jenkin Jenkin(s) same for the others

another two grandchildren  now turns up.

which are the young catherines cousins.  still cant figure out whom she belongs to and now have to try and find whom william and John belong to.
