Jane Hilton GOODMAN
« on: Friday 29 September 06 22:45 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone help me to find out about my great grandmother Jane Hilton Goodman born about 1841 St Albans.
If anyone has Jane in their family tree I would love to hear from them.
Kind regards Chris

Hi Ricky
Goodness that was quick!
Thank you very much for finding them for me.
I am not sure I understand all the different names though?
After Jane Hilton there is Peter I wonder what this means?
Do you think all these children belong to Richard & Sarah
if so it seems strange that they all seem to have another surname tacked onto their name.
Thank you again for finding them for me.
Kind regards
Christine

Hi Chris

Its St Peter which is probably a parish  in St Albans.

If you follow this link, and go to the Hertfordshire  site on it, then under towns and parishes look up St Albans it explains the area's.

http://www.genuki.org.uk/

St. Albans Abbey
St. Albans, Christ Church
St. Albans, St. Michael
St. Albans, St. Peter
St. Albans, St. Stephen
St. Paul's Walden

Just in case here are some of the parish's in St Albans

Hi Christine
Just a thought is Jane Hilton Goodman her name before she was married or is it her married name?

Hi Ricky
Thank you for all that information.
It's brilliant
I know that she married my great grandfather James Bolton
on the 31 Jan 1863 at St Swithins Church Walcot Bath.
She was age 22.
Kind regards Christine

Hi Joanna
Thank you very much for finding her bapt it was very kind of you.
I wonder if Hilton was her mother maiden name.
2 of their other children have White and Bailey so this maybe a line I could look into.
Thank you very much you have been a great help.
Kind regards Christine
