William Emmott 1861 - 1933

[Barry Emmott]

William Emmott, my great grandfather, was born in Bermondsey in London in 1861, was married in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1883 and fathered 7 children in and around Bradford up to 1895. At some time after 1901 (in the 1901 census he is living in Manchester) he went to live in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. He had been employed on the railways and I believe reached a fairly senior clerical position with the LNER in Bradford but may have transferred to the Southern Railway at Eastleigh.
