« on: Monday 02 October 06 18:41 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm trying to locate the parents of  Jessica Jane Cryer born in Eastry 8th July 1910.

I've been told it could possibly be Sandwich.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Tracey

If you are referring to the Eastry Registration District it could be any of the following parishes:

Ash, Barfreston, Betteshanger, Chillenden, Deal, Eastry, Elmstone, Eythorne, Goodnestone, Great Mongeham, Ham, Knowlton, Little Mongeham, Nonington, Northbourne, Preston, Ripple, Sandwich St. Clement, Sandwich St. Mary, Sandwich St. Peter, Sandwich St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Sholden, Staple, Stourmouth, Sutton, Tilmanstone, Waldershare, Walmer, Wingham, Woodnesborough, Worth

Have you ordered her birth certificate?

Regards, Bill

Thanks Bill, I did know that the Eastry District covered a fair few places, but hadn't realised Sandwich had so many.  Never mind I had thought it would probably be a long shot.

Unfortunately as I seem to have accummulated rather more trees than was my intention when I first started out on this family history business, ( I seem to have a job to say no to family and in-laws when they ask if I could look into other lines), so can't really afford the birth certificate at the moment.

Thanks anyway

Hi Tracey

Yes, Sandwich had a lot of churches for a small town - not so many now!  Although Deal is listed as a single parish, there are still 3 CoE, 1 RC and several Non-com. churches, plus 2 CoE, 2 RC and a couple of Non-com. in Walmer - it just gets worse!!  The good news is that Little- and Great Mongeham share a single church.   :)

Hi Trace

If you are still looking for Jessica Jane CRYER the 1911 census might help.  It is pay per view but you can get some information by playing around with the search/advanced search functions.
