Hi Jean
I have the following information:-
William Sherret born approx 1800 in Kincardineshire
Isabella Sherret born approx 1800 in Kincardineshire

They had a large number of children but in 1861 they appear in the Fordoun census.

Can you help? Is it still insufficient information for you to trace?  Sorry I did say it was a long shot!

Hi, Danielle,
I note your interest in BLUES/BLEWS of Benholm.  I am descended from Elizabeth BLUES (bap in Benholm in 1746, I think, daughter of Alexander).  She married David SCOTT in 1773.  Any connection?  I know next to nothing about this line, but would be delighted to know if you have any links.
Best wishes,
Roz

Hi Jean

Many thanks for your help.  No these are not the same Sherret's as you thought.  Thank you again for all your help.

Hi Jean,

Many thanks for all that - some of these are definitely in my line, though others will need to be worked on!

Was surprised there was so much - and very grateful for your time and effort in copying all the text.  Thank you again.

Best wishes,
Roz

Hi Roz,

I  have no trace of your BLUES in my tree. I am decended from DAVID BLEWS b +/- 1700 in Benholm and his decendents DAVID b 1727, ALEXANDER b 1764 and HELEN b1801. There were a lot of ALEXANDER BLEWS/BLUES alive at the same time in JOHNSHAVEN, very confusing!

Hi Dannielle,

I'll keep your details to hand in case of finding a link at a later date - I bet they are all connected somewhere, if we could sort out the tangled web

Happy hunting!
