list of mortons,poss from kirknewton!

after clearing out my grandmothers piles of family history,i have come across a family register,filled in by hand,but it just seems to be a list of names and dates,its a bit hard to tell who belongs to who,the only thing i do know is that jessie morton is my G Grandmother.

here is the list,i hope it helps someone out there,i also have a photo of the morton family(or part of it) its easy to tell by the dark eyes,

i dont know if anyone can make sense of any of this,i havent joined up with scotlands people yet as im still trying to justify ancestry to my dearly beloved lol.

The IGI has an extracted record for a Charles Morton born 17th September 1862 in Whitekirk, East Lothian, son of Peter Morton and Maryanne MacGregor and an Isabella Agnes Morton born 11th December 1864, also Whitekirk, East Lothian. These are obviously two from your list. 

Peter and Mary Anne married 6th December 1861 at Kirknewton And East Calder, Midlothian (again, IGI extracted record).

I hope I am not colluding with you to deceive your dearly beloved     but .. you don't need to 'join' Scotlandspeople per se, it is not like Ancestry, you just register and then buy credits. The minimum is 6GBP for 30 credits - this will buy you five index searches and five certificates (if you are careful) and I would say you have enough info here to put all these people together. 

I would start with the marriage cert of Peter and Mary Ann, you will get both sets of their parents this way plus here is their entry from the 1881 census to start you off ...

wow,im impressed , between you me and the web i think i might sneak my debit card onto scotlands people,shhh now lol.

my grandmother was always very proud of her second middle name mcgregor,she even bought a kilt in the mcgregor tartan,even though she wasnt born in scotland!!

i cant wait to find out how the other names fit in
what is IGI??
