Mary  wife born 1829
Mary dau born 1852
Jane dau born 1860 

 All born Pentyrch. Living by Pentyrch Works on the 1861 census.

John Thomas head mar 48 founder iron works b. Merthyr Tydfil
Amelia wife mar 35 b. Pentyrch
Mary dau 19 dressmaker b. Pentyrch
Jane dau 9 scholar b. Pentyrch
Thomas son 2 b. Pentyrch

Jane's age differs to that given in 1861, Mary has become Amelia and that's a second son called Thomas?  Possible remarriages for John

Mar qtr 1868 Cardiff 11a 301 Amelia Jane Youland

I should of known this family group would be trouble when a John Thomas married a Jane Thomas  ;D
