1891 Census REQUEST - Kent
« on: Thursday 19 February 04 13:04 GMT (UK) »
If someone could help me out with the following two lookups, it would be much appreciated. I am looking to find out the houses where these families lived, as well as the order and number of children born at that time. Many thanks!

*SMITH - Northfleet.
Charles Alfred & Alice (Grey) SMITH. Their entry in the 1881 census was...

Chas.Alfd. SMITH  Head M Male 20 Headcorn, England Farm Labourer
Alice SMITH         Wife M Female 19 Swanscombe, Kent, England

*BAKER - Northfleet.
Thomas & Alice L. (Horlock) BAKER. In the 1881 census it gives me...

Thomas BAKER     Head M Male 31 Northfleet, Kent, England Carpenter
Alice L. BAKER      Wife M Female 25 Northfleet, Kent, England
Thomas BAKER     Son Male 2 Northfleet, Kent, England
Edith BAKER         Daug Female 8 m Northfleet, Kent, England

Once again, thanks for reading.

Hi there

Here is the first part of your query

"If someone could help me out with the following lookup, it would be much appreciated. I am looking to find out the houses where these families lived, as well as the order and number of children born at that time. Many thanks!"

*BAKER - Northfleet.
Thomas & Alice L. (Horlock) BAKER. In the 1881 census it gives me...

Thomas BAKER    Head M Male 31 Northfleet, Kent, England Carpenter
Alice L. BAKER      Wife M Female 25 Northfleet, Kent, England
Thomas BAKER    Son Male 2 Northfleet, Kent, England
Edith BAKER        Daug Female 8 m Northfleet, Kent, England

RG12/ 649   / Folio58  / Page 42 – Number 30 Lawn Road, Northfleet, Kent.

BAKER Alice, Head, Wid, 35, Needlewoman, Born Northfleet.
           Edith, Dau, Unm, 10, Northfleet
           Herbert, Son, Unm, 8, Northfleet
           Frederick, Son, Unm, 5, Northfleet
           Esther, Dau, Unm, 1, Northfleet

It looks as though poor Alice lost her husband Thomas in the last 12 - 18 months as she has a young child of 1 year.

Hope that is what you were looking for

Chris,

Thanks very much for taking the time to look those names up for me. Both were exactly what I was searching for, and there were some interesting surprises for me!

Once again, many thanks and best regards,

Raymond
