The George Inn, Kirkburton - Is it still there?

I would just like to say how extremely helpful contributors to this site have been to me in the recent past. Tremendous.

Now to the question in hand ....

I was hoping someone reading this might know if there is still a pub in Kirkburton called The George Inn. It's probably quite old - perhaps 200 or more years.

First time I've played with Google Earth - it's quite cool.

Unfortunately, that phone number doesn't accept incoming calls!

Hi Les, that's the phone no which is in an old directory which I have for Huddersfield so stange it doesn't accept incoming calls.

I wasn't sure if the pub was still there as I don't live in the area now but i had an aunt who lived at the back of it years ago.

How strange that a Pub wouldn't allow incoming calls!! How do they take bookings? Unless they don't do food I suppose Hope someone who lives in the area can tell you more.
