Eyemouth - Mackays
« on: Tuesday 10 October 06 20:29 BST (UK) »
Great Grandmothers marriage cert states that her parents were Kennedy Sinclair /Alice Mackay or McKay.

I found Kennedy Sinclair came from Wick,Caithness.

However Alice Mackay/Mckay can only be found on LDS,Ch:11 Jun 1809 Eyemouth,Berwick.
Father:Robert Mackay
Mother:Anne Smith

Until I found Eyemouth listed in your Berwickshire list I had been misled into searching Northumberland-Berwick on Tweed.
Can anyone on RootsChat help me find out if these are the correct people for my tree.

Someone as also passed to me possible siblings of Alice as follows:

Agnes Ure Mackay Ch:29 Apr 1812
Anne Mackay Ch: 1.Nov 1806
Barbara Mackay Ch: 25 Oct 1801
Jane Mackay Ch;6 Apr 1804
Margaret Mackay Ch: 30 Dec 1814

Cheers

hi Beckey,

This looks a bit obscure but possibly there may be a connection somewhere along the way.

I will keep this on file just in case.

Thank you for your info.

This is my family of McKay at Clarabad Mill. Are you researching this family too.
Margaret McKay married David Porter about 1775 and the Porters lived in Clarabad Mill until the late 1800's.

I may be able to share something with you.

I really am only interested in the ancestors of Robert Mackay & Anne Smith who married 7/10/1798
in Eyemouth.
They had daughters:

1.Barbara Mackay b.1801
2.Janet Mackay b.1804
3.Anne Mackay b.1806
4 Alice(Elisha) b.c.1809 (my 2x Gt Grandmother) marr:Kennedy Sinclair abt 1829 Belfast
5 Agnes Ure Mackay b.1812

I really don't know if my Mackays have any link with yours, but I am very grateful to you for contacting me.

I have information on Robert Mackay, Eyemouth, 1770, if that is still required.
